Love
Though I'd never felt it before, I knew it as if it was a second skin, as if something had crawled up and bit me, like something had fallen off a building site and hit me, I knew, I loved you.

This compelling new play by Patricia Cornelius is about love. It challenges our preconceptions about love. It questions the nature of love, when it’s not a greeting card and it’s not pretty, but it is still love. Most importantly Love looks at who is allowed to love whom and how many people are allowed to love each other at one time?
This is an actor’s play written by one of Australia’s most experienced and dangerous writers. Tanya loves Annie and Annie loves Tanya but Annie also loves Lennie who then loves Tanya.
They all love sticking needles in their arms and they all love sex. And they like it when Annie has sex because she does it for money that they can then shove up their arms.
They just have to remember not to leave Annie alone. Love looks at the need for love and the cost of addiction—to a drug or, to another person.
Andrew Lake, one of Western Australia’s finest set and lighting designers will design the environment for Angela Chaplin’s production of this important new play.
Not for the faint hearted, Love is theatre that explores potent ground, takes risks and produces results. Thanks to Hothouse Theatre.
