Some believe the world is built on a turtle’s back. Others believe that the turtle is a symbol of antiquity, stability and fertility.
Travel through the eyes of a child and take an enchanted journey woven in indigenous stories, personal experience and turtle tales. With superb puppetry supported through dance, projection and narration, audiences will travel over oceans in a story of fact, fiction, memory and magic.
Each beautifully created puppet was inspired by materials from our coastline and created from natural fibres. With original music and song from both northern Indigenous coastal communities and Fremantle musicians, Turtle and the Trade Winds intertwines different aspects of the turtle’s life in a magic journey of discovery that will have the whole family enthralled.
