Its primary responsibility is to help create an environment which encourages the creativity and development of Australian artists, and which provides greater access to arts and cultural activities for all Australians.

Healthway works to promote health and healthier environments through a range of programs, partnerships and settings. These Arts sponsorships assist Healthway in achieving its main objective, the promotion of health with a particular focus on young people in Western Australia.

BankWest recognises the importance of giving something back to the community, which is why they've developed an extensive sponsorship programme. Over the last year, they've committed over $1 million dollars to many Western Australian organisations and initiatives including the Royal Life Saving Society, BankWest Seniors Week, Telethon, the BankWest Wildcats, the Cerebral Palsy Association of WA, the Fremantle Dockers and the Salvation Army.

In 1999 Alcoa was presented with a Major State Arts Patron award by the WA Minister for the Arts, for sponsorship of the Festival of Perth and community arts events.
